There are so many doubts in your mind. In this section, we are going to state some common but useful things you can do after the entrance examination.

    After JEE main

After coming out of the examination hall, you start wondering about your result. So many questions begin to haunt you. A candidate gets a panic attack whenever he thinks of JEE main result. They begin to question themselves.

The most common questions are – Will they qualify to JEE main, if not then. After there are so many doubts regarding the counselling procedures, the list of colleges, and the best colleges among them you will get all your answers here. Let us start what you have to do after the exam.

    Relax

The first thing that you need to do is to relax. You have worked really hard preparing for the entrance examination. The best tip for the to-do-list after JEE main is to relax.

You don’t need to take so much stress. But it does not mean that you should neglect your studies and become lazy. Always maintain your time table and continue your studies for some other options too.

    Wait for the Result

To prepare for the examination was in your hand. The JEE main result isn’t. Wait for the JEE main result. You will get your AIR (All India Rank). From your AIR, you will have a rough guess of your score. By qualifying the JEE mains, you are eligible to take admissions in the top IITs, NITs, and other government colleges.

    List of Colleges

While waiting for the JEE main result, one can use the idle time in preparing a list of colleges. In the list, a candidate can add the details like last year cut-offs, seats available, fee structures, courses offered, placement record, institution rank, and other details. Try to explore the branch or the stream in which you want to study.

    Check the Scores and Cut-offs

After the result, the candidate must check the qualifying cut-off. The authority releases the answer key. They declare the cut-off so as to set a bar. The candidate meeting these cut-offs are considered for admission.

Those who fail to meet the cut-off (i.e., rank lower than the cut-off) are not eligible for admissions into the top colleges. Also, the authority declares the cut-off for JEE Advanced.

A candidate who has given the entrance examination, will either meet the cut-off or not. If he does, he gets the chance to sit for JEE Advanced examination.

A candidate who does not meet the cut-off is not eligible for the JEE Advanced examination. Though he is eligible for getting admission in NITs, IIITs, and other government colleges. So prepare for counselling.

    Prepare for JEE Advanced

Congratulations! You are among the top candidates who ace the examination. Don’t sit idle. Gear up and start preparing for JEE Advanced. This is your chance to get admission into the top colleges like IITs. Once again work hard and set the bar. There are mock tests available to prepare for it.

    Get Ready for Counselling

If you’ve missed the cut-off for JEE Advanced, don’t lose hope. You still can get admission in institutes like NITs, IIITs, GFTIs, CFTIs, etc.

    Other examinations

If you’ve missed the cut-off for JEE main, don’t lose hope. This is not the end of your career. You have just started. There is a lot more than this. There are other state-level examinations and other institutes who accept JEE main scores for admission.

Also, there are other engineering institutes who have their own entrance examination for admission. Below is the list of some colleges who accept JEE main score and offer admission.

    • Thapar University.
    • SASTRA University.
    • Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology.
    • Nirma University.
    • JamiaMilliaIslamia.

Other State Level Entrance Examination as a Backup Plan

Apart from the above mentioned private colleges, a candidate can go for various state level examination. A candidate can go for WBJEE, KEAM, KCET, MHT CET, AP EAMCET etc.

A candidate needs to clear the state level entrance examination to get admission in the top college of any state. Also, a candidate can also check for the privilege of reservation in the state level examinations too.

    Prepare for JEE main Again

If you don’t want to settle just for any college, you can drop a year and work for JEE main once again. Dropping a year is not a bad decision if you are fully confident of clearing the examination the next year. Be very wise in making choice. Work harder than the last year and make yourself ready for the battle again.

    Conclusion

A lot of students go for JEE Mains. Not all crack this difficult examination. A candidate needs to be doing the impossible for getting admission in IITs. A candidate feels nervous not during the examination but also after the examination.

The questions like what to do after JEE main results, what to do during counselling haunts every candidate.  The answer to the question what will happen in the result will only get clear after the release of the JEE main result. Once the result is released, you should be prepared for any situation.

If you meet the cut-offs, pat your back and prepare yourself for JEE Advanced examination. Even if you don’t meet it, there is no need to worry. You only missed the chance of appearing in JEE Advanced. This is not the end. You can still seek admission in NITS, IIITs, and other institutes.

Also if you haven’t cleared the examination, there is no need to feel bad or anything lesser than others. You can try your luck in other state level examinations. There are also other institutes which accept the JEE scores. Also, you can try your luck and work hard to reappear in the JEE mains 2020.
