eDefines is an independent online publication. We publish explainers, guides and stories about technology, money, culture, travel, health, style, home and learning. Our aim is simple: help readers understand a topic quickly and accurately, and give them something practical they can use.
Our standards
- Accuracy first. We check facts before publishing and prefer original sources. Our fact-checking policy explains how.
- Clarity over clicks. Headlines describe what the article actually says. We don’t use misleading or sensational headlines.
- Fairness. When a topic has more than one reasonable view, we say so.
- Usefulness. Every article should answer the reader’s question or help them make a decision.
Independence and advertising
eDefines is supported by advertising. Ads are served automatically and are kept separate from our articles. Advertisers do not choose, review or approve what we write.
Going forward, any content that someone has paid for, or that includes a paid relationship such as an affiliate link, is labelled clearly at the top of the article.
Who writes for eDefines
Every article carries the name of the person who wrote it, and each name links to an author page listing their work. You can see everyone who writes for us on our authors page. We do not invent names, credentials or experience for our writers.
Health, money and legal topics
Articles about health, personal finance, taxes, investments, legal matters or government documents are for general information only. They are not professional advice. Rules, prices and procedures change, so check with a qualified professional or the official source before making decisions.
Updates and dates
Each article shows its date, and when we make a meaningful revision, such as new information, corrected facts or a substantially rewritten section, we also show an “Updated” date.
