    We all heard more and more about Adhara card, right! Thinking why now I am talking about Aadhaar card, when the topic says UIDAI ?

    Simple, both UIDAI and Adhara card are the same! Here, in this article, I am going to explain everything you need to know about UIDAI.

    The UIDAI or the Aadhaar card scheme is launched by the Government of India with the aim to provide an identity to all the Indian Citizens. By having an Aadhaar card, you will be given a 12- digit identification number which will be unique for every card holders.

    To prohibit unauthorized access, the Aadhaar card features bio metric information such as IRIS scan and fingerprints. Furthermore, like voters ID, you don’t have to wait till the age of 18 to acquire this card;you can get the UID or Aadhaar Card even if you’re below 18 years of age.

    How to Get UIDAI Card – Process

    To get the UID Card, you can either visit the authorized enrolment center or visit the UIDAI website and fill up the form online. For Aadhaar card enrolment purpose, you need to submit your identity proof and address proof. The following documents are accepted by the UIDAI as identity proof:Update at Enrolment Cent

    • Bank Statement or Passbook
    • Passport
    • Voter ID
    • Government Photo ID Cards
    • PSU Issued Identity Card
    • Driving License
    • Post Office Statement or Passbook
    • Ration Card
    • Water Bill (not more than 3 months old)

    All these proofs are well cross checked by the staffs for authentication purposes and then a unique identification number will be allotted to each and every individual.

    The process takes around 60-90 days for completion. In case, if there is clarification needed or any doubts raises, the application will be put on hold and an inquiry will be launched. Your application will be sent back to you with a guide to correct the mistakes and the guide of re-enrolling application process.

    Unique Identification Authority of India accounts for 67.5% Indian population and it has generated more tahn82 crores of Aadhaar card.

    The official will perform rigorous testing and inspection to avoid fraudulent activities and unauthorized access. You can apply for Aadhaar card at absolutely free of cost.

    So you don’t need to worry about paying for either an application form or facing any charges for enrolment fees at the centers.

    If any website or officials at an enrolment centers is charging you for your application or processing fee, you can instantly file your complaint to the nearest Regional Office.
