Quick answer: Physical security software helps organisations protect people, buildings and assets: it manages security guards and patrols, records incidents, controls visitors, analyses camera footage and alerts teams to real-world risks. Of the 15 tools in our original 2020 list, 11 could still be verified in October 2026, several under new names: incy.io is now Falcony, Silvertrac is part of Trackforce, Guardso is marketed as GuardsPro, and Milestone’s free XProtect Essential+ has been discontinued. The four tools we could no longer verify have been removed, so this is now a list of 11.

Information security gets most of the attention, but physical security (who can enter a building, whether patrols happen, how incidents are recorded) is just as important and easy to overlook. We first published this list of physical security software in 2020. In October 2026 we checked every product on its vendor’s own website and removed claims we could not confirm. We have not used these products ourselves, and none of the vendors paid to be listed.
How to choose physical security software
- Define the job first. Guard management, incident reporting, visitor management, video analytics and risk intelligence are different categories. Few products do all of them well.
- Check the mobile app. Guards and staff report from phones, so test the app on the devices your team actually uses, including offline use.
- Ask about proof of presence. For patrols, look for NFC or QR checkpoints and GPS records that show a guard was at a place at a given time.
- Look at data handling. Camera footage, visitor logs and incident reports are personal data. Ask where data is stored and how long it is kept, and follow the privacy law that applies to you, such as India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
- Insist on a trial. Most vendors offer a free trial or demo. Use it with real shifts and sites before you sign.

The 11 physical security software tools
1. Falcony (formerly incy.io)
incy.io was the observation and incident reporting tool in our original list. Its maker, Plan Brothers, renamed both itself and incy.io as Falcony, and the old incy.io address now redirects to falcony.io. Falcony’s Observe module lets employees report incidents, near misses and other observations, with customisable categories and workflows, automatic task assignment and notifications to the right people. Falcony also offers a Security suite and BI dashboards for spotting trends, which matches the original description of real-time statistics on risks.
2. Dataminr
Dataminr describes itself as an AI platform for real-time event, threat and risk intelligence. It says it monitors about a million public data sources to detect incidents as they unfold. Its corporate security product is designed to help organisations protect people, secure facilities and events, and keep operations running during a crisis. Dataminr has also announced that it will acquire ThreatConnect, a threat intelligence company. The original list said Dataminr had helped clients in more than 70 countries; we could not confirm a current figure.
3. Novagems
Novagems is security guard management software for security companies. Its features include drag-and-drop shift scheduling, clock-in and timesheets, live GPS tracking with geofencing, checkpoint tours using NFC or QR codes, mobile patrol tracking, task management, real-time and panic alerts, and client reports. It has apps on Google Play and the App Store and a web login for managers. The site offers Canadian and US versions and a 14-day free trial. The original list said Novagems did not run on Windows or Mac; the web login now covers office computers.
4. Envoy
Envoy is a workplace platform. It covers visitor check-in, booking of rooms, desks and parking, mailroom and delivery management, and emergency or critical event management. That makes it useful for physical security at offices, where knowing who is on site matters. The original list’s figure of more than 13,000 locations is not on Envoy’s current site, so we have removed it.
5. RiskWatch (formerly listed as SecureWatch)
Our original list described SecureWatch, a RiskWatch product that used survey questions to score assets and track remediation tasks for information and physical security. RiskWatch’s current website no longer names SecureWatch. It lists products for physical security assessment, compliance management, risk management, policy management, cyber and IT risk, and third-party risk. If you were looking for SecureWatch, its Physical Security Assessment product is the closest match; ask RiskWatch to confirm.
6. Camlytics
Camlytics is video analytics software that adds AI analysis to existing CCTV or IP cameras. It processes video locally, and its cloud service receives only anonymous text data for reports. Features include people counting and occupancy, queue and vehicle counting, heatmaps, custom object detection, and perimeter security and anti-tailgating tools, with an API and webhooks for camera events. The original list called it Windows software with a free version; Camlytics’ current homepage mentions a desktop version but does not state the operating system or a free tier.
7. GuardsPro (formerly listed as Guardso)
Guardso’s original website no longer responds. The same software appears to be marketed as GuardsPro: GuardsPro’s site links to app store listings that still use the Guardso name. GuardsPro offers GPS-enabled and tag-based guard tours, instant incident reports, shift scheduling, live GPS tracking, a client web portal, a time clock, geofencing, a dispatcher, messaging, invoicing and daily activity reports. It advertises a 30-day free trial.
8. Trackforce (includes Silvertrac)
Silvertrac was a guard accountability tool. Its website now redirects to Trackforce, which says it is “now home to TrackTik, GuardTek and Silvertrac”. Trackforce describes itself as an operating system for physical security, serving security firms and in-house security teams. Its TrackTik products cover guard management, guard tour systems, incident reporting (including AI-assisted report writing), mobile patrols, dispatch, a security command centre, and payroll and invoicing. GuardTek is offered in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
9. Milestone XProtect (Essential+ discontinued)
The original list described XProtect Essential as a cloud-based video surveillance solution for small businesses. That was not accurate: XProtect Essential+ was free, Windows-only video management software that you installed on your own computer, supporting up to eight cameras. Milestone discontinued Essential+ with its XProtect 2025 R2 release. Existing installations can keep running eight devices for free, but new users must choose a paid version. Milestone describes XProtect Express+ as its option for small businesses, supporting up to 100 cameras at a single site.
10. Celayix (formerly listed as eTime Xpress)
eTime Xpress was a scheduling and time-tracking product from Celayix, aimed at industries including security, hospitality and healthcare. Celayix’s current website no longer uses the eTime Xpress name. It describes Celayix as shift management software for employee scheduling, time and attendance and workforce management, with integrations for payroll, billing and HR systems. Security is listed first among the industries it serves, alongside healthcare, hospitality, and events and venues.
11. Coredinate
Coredinate is a German company, based in Uffenheim, that makes a cloud-based guard tour and patrol monitoring system for security services, in-house security teams, facility management and cleaning companies. Guards prove their presence with ordinary smartphones, using NFC tags or GPS points, so no separate scanner is needed, and the app works offline. Other modules include incident recording with photos, key management and lone-worker alarms. Coredinate was sold to the Nomadia Group in 2024, according to its former investor Bayern Kapital.
Tools removed from the original list
We removed four tools that we could not verify in October 2026:
- IDentifyED: Campus Security by Kornukopia. The Kornukopia website domain is now listed for sale.
- Presynct_OnDemand, an incident reporting system. The vendor’s website did not respond, and the directory listings we found relied mostly on reviews from 2015 and 2016.
- MoboTour, a guard tour app. Its website did not respond, and most reviews we found dated from 2016 to 2019.
- “SMS”, a visitor registration system. The original entry gave only this abbreviation, which was not enough to identify the product or its vendor.

Frequently asked questions
What is physical security software?
Software that helps protect people, buildings and assets in the real world. Common types include guard management and guard tour systems, incident reporting, visitor management, video management and analytics, and risk intelligence alerts.
Is there free physical security software?
Some tools have free trials, such as Novagems (14 days) and GuardsPro (30 days). Milestone’s free XProtect Essential+ has been discontinued for new users.
What is a guard tour system?
A system that proves security guards completed their patrols. Guards scan NFC tags or QR codes, or check in at GPS points, on a phone, and supervisors see the times and locations in a web portal.
What happened to incy.io?
Its maker renamed the product and the company Falcony, and the incy.io address now redirects to falcony.io.
Do these tools comply with Indian data protection law?
It depends on how you configure and use them. India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 applies to personal data such as visitor logs and camera footage. Ask each vendor where data is stored, and take legal advice for your situation.
Checked in October 2026 against each vendor’s official website, Falcony’s launch FAQ, Milestone’s XProtect documentation and Bayern Kapital’s portfolio page.
