Quick answer: “Brand management software” covers three kinds of tools. Brand asset and guideline platforms (Frontify, Bynder, Brandfolder, Acquia DAM, Brandworkz, NetX, Asset Bank, Third Light and Portfolio DAM) keep logos, images and rules in one place. Brand monitoring and social tools (Brand24, Brandwatch and Send Social Media) track and manage what is said about you online. Marketing planning tools (Uptempo, formerly BrandMaker) manage campaigns and budgets. Choose the type that solves your actual problem before comparing vendors.

Top Brand Management Software

A brand is only as strong as its consistency. When teams, agencies, franchisees and partners all use the right logo, colours, templates and messages, customers recognise you everywhere. Brand management software makes that easier by giving everyone one approved source of brand assets and guidelines, and by showing how people talk about your brand online.

We first published this list as “15 Best Brand Management Software For Businesses” in 2020. When we checked every product again in October 2026, several had been acquired or renamed (Widen is now Acquia DAM, Falcon.io is part of Brandwatch, BrandMaker is now Uptempo and Third Light is a PhotoShelter company), and two could no longer be confirmed. The list below has the 13 that are still sold.

How to choose brand management software

  • Name the problem. If people use old logos or off-brand designs, you need a digital asset management (DAM) or brand guidelines platform. If you need to know what customers say about you, you need social listening. If campaigns and budgets are the issue, look at marketing resource management.
  • Who needs access? Count internal users, agencies, franchisees and partners. Many DAMs price by users or storage; branded portals for outsiders may cost extra.
  • Templates and self-service. Franchises and multi-location businesses benefit from locked templates that local teams can edit safely without a designer.
  • Rights and compliance. If you use licensed photos or images of people, check how the tool tracks usage rights, consent and expiry dates.
  • Cloud or on-premise. Most tools are cloud-only. Portfolio DAM and NetX also offer on-premise deployment for organisations that must keep files in-house.
  • Integrations. Check connections to design tools (Adobe, Figma, Canva), your website CMS and your marketing platforms.

The 13 brand management tools in detail

1. Brand24

Brand24 is an AI-powered social listening tool. It tracks mentions of your brand across social media, news, blogs, videos, forums, podcasts and reviews, which Brand24 says covers 25 million online sources in real time, and it sorts mentions into positive, negative and neutral with sentiment analysis. It suits reputation monitoring, competitor analysis and PR reporting. You can sign up free to start a trial.

2. Portfolio DAM (formerly Extensis Portfolio)

The original article listed Extensis Portfolio. The product is now sold by Portfolio DAM, LLC at its own website, which does not mention Extensis. Portfolio is on-premise digital asset management: it runs on a server in your network, or in a private cloud instance, and catalogues files where they already sit. Features include keyword and Boolean search, previews, secure sharing, drag-and-drop with Adobe and Microsoft Office apps, on-the-fly file conversion and a web builder for branded sharing sites.

3. Acquia DAM (formerly Widen Collective)

Widen Collective was acquired by Acquia, and widen.com now redirects to Acquia DAM, which Acquia says is “built on Widen technology”. It is an enterprise DAM for centralising digital assets and workflows and distributing on-brand content. It fits best for large organisations, particularly those already using Acquia’s Drupal-based products.

4. Bynder

Bynder is an enterprise DAM platform for creating, managing and distributing content at scale. Beyond asset storage, it offers Studio for making on-brand images, videos and GIFs from brand-approved templates without design experience, content workflows, analytics on asset and portal use, integrations and AI agents. It suits global brands with many teams and agencies.

5. Third Light

Third Light describes itself as digital asset management for creative people, and it is now “a PhotoShelter Company”, according to its website. It helps teams organise, manage, share and collaborate on visual content. The original article praised its handling of large files; check current features and deployment options with the vendor.

6. Brandwatch (formerly Falcon.io)

Falcon.io now redirects to Brandwatch, a Cision company, where the Falcon tools live on as Brandwatch Social Media Management (“formerly the Falcon suite”). Alongside it sit Brandwatch Consumer Research for listening and an influencer product. The content calendar and campaign workflow the original article described are now part of a collaborative social content calendar.

7. Brandfolder

Brandfolder is a DAM platform for storing, sharing and analysing brand assets, with Brandguide for always-current online brand guidelines, creative workflow tools, AI tagging, branded portals and a content delivery network for embedding assets on the web. Its site promotes a combined Smartsheet and Brandfolder offering for teams that manage creative work in Smartsheet.

8. Frontify

Frontify focuses on brand guidelines: one online home for your brand rules, plus digital asset management, templates for creating on-brand content, analytics and integrations. It also offers an AI assistant inside the brand portal that answers questions from your own guideline content. As the original article said, it suits businesses of most sizes that want a living, web-based brand manual.

9. Asset Bank

Asset Bank is a DAM with a strong focus on compliance: it tracks usage rights and consent, lets you restrict content quickly, and sets detailed permissions for each team, partner or region, with approval steps where needed. It also covers search, upload, sharing and AI features. A free trial is available.

10. Send Social Media

Send Social Media is a social media dashboard aimed at franchisors and local businesses. It schedules and publishes posts across networks including Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and WordPress, lets you read and respond to what people say about your brand, and reports on clicks, shares, comments and views. A 14-day free trial is offered. The original article’s “more than 30 networks” claim is not on the current site.

11. Brandworkz

Brandworkz combines brand management software with a DAM. Its features include digital and print templates, approval workflows, a logo finder, guidelines and positioning pages, and reporting. It markets itself for rebrands, franchise networks, financial services and higher education, where many people must stay on brand.

12. Uptempo (formerly BrandMaker)

BrandMaker is now Uptempo, which its website describes as the combination of BrandMaker, Allocadia and Hive9 in marketing performance management. As the original article noted, BrandMaker was a marketing resource management (MRM) tool; Uptempo continues that focus on planning, budgets and performance rather than asset storage.

13. NetX

NetX is a DAM system available in the cloud or on-premise. Its features include branded portals, AI tagging, asset creation, collaboration tools, metadata, rights management, video speech search, workflow automation and an open API. NetX also offers guided onboarding and expert services, which matches the onboarding support the original article mentioned.

Removed since our earlier version

  • Marvia: the marvia.com address now shows a placeholder page saying the domain may be for sale, so we could not confirm the product is still available.
  • MomentFeed: its website returned a “service unavailable” error in October 2026, and it was a local search and location marketing tool rather than brand management software. Multi-location brands should look at current location marketing platforms instead.

Frequently asked questions

What is brand management software?

It is software that helps a business keep its brand consistent and protected. Most tools store approved assets and guidelines (digital asset management); others monitor online mentions or manage marketing plans and budgets.

What is the difference between DAM and brand management software?

Digital asset management stores and organises files. Brand management platforms usually add brand guidelines, templates and approval workflows on top of a DAM, so people not only find assets but use them correctly.

Do small businesses need brand management software?

Not always. A small team can manage with a shared folder and a short brand guide. Software becomes worthwhile when several teams, agencies or locations create content, or when you need to track image rights.

Which tools monitor what people say about my brand?

Social listening tools such as Brand24 and Brandwatch track mentions across social media, news, blogs and review sites, and analyse sentiment.

For practical branding advice, read our guides on branding a small online store and managing your business’s online reputation. If you mainly need to share large files with partners, compare file sharing software for business.

Product details were checked in October 2026 against each vendor’s official website. Ownership and product names in this market change often, so confirm details with the vendor before you buy.
